Veterinary Dentistry for the Technician and Vet Assistant

This lecture and wet lab will provide you – the veterinary technician or vet assistant with the tools necessary to identify, chart, and communicate your findings to your doctor and the pet owner. In addition, lecture time will be devoted to the anesthetic monitoring of a dental patient. In the afternoon, time will be spent with those people that want to learn how to properly position intraoral dental radiographs. For those that do not have radiography, time can be spent on charting/probing and marketing. Either way, your techs leave with a lot of new knowledge.

12:45- 4:30 LAB: DENTAL RADIOLOGY POSITIONING FOR THE DOG AND CAT; INTERACTIVE CHARTING AND/OR EQUIPMENTOLOGY DEMONSTRATIONS AND ANESTHETIC MONITORING LAB
The goal of this lab is to teach the technician how to not only take proper dental radiographs but also take them in a timely fashion. Tips how to take great images time and time again are stressed.
Three different radiographic stations will be utilized: canine maxilla, canine mandible, and feline for each attendee to spend plenty of time mastering their radiographic skills.
For those that do not have dental radiography, afternoon lab will help you, the tech or vet assistant, to perform better procedures and market those procedures to your clients.
