Diagnostic Imaging (dental x-rays and CT)
Intraoral dental radiography is essential for a complete dental examination. 30% of dogs and 40% of cats have pathology that only dental x-rays can diagnose. Of those cases that have diagnosed pathology, approximately 50% of dogs and cats have additional pathology that requires treatment.
At the Memphis offices of Your Pet Dentist, we have CT (computerized tomography) and CBCT (cone beam CT) available for definitive margins for oral cancer surgery as well as to aid in the diagnostics of TMJ pathology. CBCT is also extremely useful identifying early endodontic lesions that otherwise could not be seen by conventional dental radiography.
