Dr. Barden Greenfield is a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College practicing dentistry and oral surgery for small animals in Nashville and the surrounding Mid-State area. He previously practiced in Memphis at Memphis Veterinary Specialist from 2009-2021.
“While in private practice, I learned that 8 of 10 dogs and cats over the age of three have some form of periodontal disease. I realized then that pets need dentists, too.” In 2005, he started a non-conforming residency in dentistry and oral surgery, which he completed in 2009. During that time, he studied under some of the brightest veterinary dentists in the country and travelled extensively for advanced dental training.
Tammy is the friendly, reassuring person on the other end of the phone line when you call Dr. Greenfield’s office. She is a licensed veterinary technician who has been with Dr. Greenfield for 6 years. In addition to answering your phone calls and discussing the different types of dental procedures your pet may need, she also performs periodontal cleanings, polishings and probings for our wellness-based dental procedures. She also assists Dr. Greenfield in dental procedures such as root canals, advanced periodontal surgeries, and complicated oral surgeries.
Tammy is from Dyersburg, TN and attended Murray State University in Murray, KY. She is married and has a wonderful son. During their spare time, you can find Tammy and her husband cheering for their son in competitive baseball.
One of the best compliments she receives from clients is her comforting aura with regard to reassuring clients that their beloved pet is in trusted hands. She, like Dr. Greenfield, treats her patients with patience, comfort and love, while providing a very thorough dental examination and treatment.
Cynthia has worked as a veterinary technician since 1995. Cynthia attended college online through Cedar Valley College. She started traveling with Dr. Greenfield in 2012 assisting him at his Nashville and Little Rock locations while continuing to work full-time in general practice.
She took a job at Memphis Veterinary Specialists in 2015 and spent 2 years working in the ICU caring for critical and emergent patients. She came on full time with Dr. Greenfield in March of 2017.
Her favorite part of being a veterinary technician is that it gives her the opportunity to improve the quality of life for pets and the chance to connect with and support the people attached to those pets.
Cynthia married her husband shortly after starting her career in Veterinary medicine. They have one son who is currently attending Christian Brothers University. She also shares her home with 2 dogs and 2 cats.
Practice Limited to Dentistry and Oral Surgery
Dr. Angela Briggs has been in veterinary medicine since she was 16 years old. Originally working as a veterinary assistant, this fueled her love for both animals and the healthcare field. Born and raised just outside of Washington, DC, she obtained her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Maryland.
After graduation, she moved to Charleston, SC and worked for a group of veterinary surgeons prior to the start of veterinary school. She obtained her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Mississippi State University in 2011. After veterinary school, Dr. Briggs worked in general practice for 8 years in Memphis, TN. There her love for dentistry and oral surgery began and she pursued advanced training in this field.
While in Memphis, she completed a 3-year residency in dentistry and oral surgery and is thrilled to be joining the staff at Your Pet Dentist of Nashville.
When she is not at work, Dr. Briggs enjoys all outdoor activities including training for various races, kayaking/paddleboarding, and hiking. At home, she shares her time with her husband, a board-certified veterinary surgeon, their two daughters and four fur-babies.
