At MVVDEC we offer ongoing CE events for both DVM’s and technicians. The upcoming Short Courses will be:Dental CE for the Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Assistant 7 hrs CE Space limited to 30 attendees Date: December 3, 2017 Cost $267 Location: MVVDEC @ Memphis Veterinary Specialists Memphis, TN Topic: This lecture and wet lab will provide you – the veterinary technician or vet assistant with the tools necessary to identify, chart, and communicate your findings to your doctor and the pet owner. In addition, lecture time will be devoted to the anesthetic monitoring of a dental patient. In the afternoon, time will bet spent with those people that want to learn how to properly position intraoral dental radiographs. For those that do not have radiography, time can bet spent on charting/probing and marketing. Either way, your techs leave with a lot of new knowledge. Small Animal Dentistry 101 DVM’s and Technicians 13 hrs CE (TN approved) Space limited to 10 DVM’s and 10 technicians Two day seminar on the introduction to veterinary dentistry Date: Upcoming in 2018 Location: MVVDEC @ Memphis Veterinary Specialists Memphis, TN Topic: Day 1: The first day is dedicated to lectures regarding veterinary dentistry and how your practice can immediately benefit from knowing these basic principles. One must know normal anatomy before one can tackle any dental pathology. Once normal anatomy is reviewed, topics of periodontology, radiology and extraction techniques are reviewed. The final lecture of the day is marketing your dental practice and how to increase profits. Day 2: Interactive lab that gives the attendee an introduction to equipmentology, the proper prophylaxis, radiography, extractions/flaps, sharpening of hand instruments, and regional nerve blocks. Advanced Oral Surgery for the Dog and Cat 14 hrs CE DVM only Space limited to 12 attendees Date: Upcoming in 2018 Location: MVVDEC @ Memphis Veterinary Specialists Memphis, TN Topic: This advanced two day lecture/lab will focus on teaching the veterinarian how to perform full mouth extractions in the dog and cat. Emphasis on technique (flap presentation, extraction with minimal bone removal, alveoplasty and surgical closure). Day 1 (feline) and day 2 (canine) will challenge the practitioner on his/her extraction skills. This is definitely a must CE course for those wanting to improve their extraction skills.
